CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

ELAINA MIGHT HAVE agreed with Alex to take things slow, but after the disappointing meeting with Emanuel, she needed to let off steam. Taking things slow and spending the night talking were not the way she intended to decompress.

She met Alex at the door wearing nothing but a red lace bra and panty set with a matching silk robe. The flowers in his hand fell to his feet. She grinned as he scrambled to pick them up.

“I was going to take you out for dessert,” he said, eyeing her from head to toe.

“We can have dessert here.” She reached out and pulled him into the house by his shirt.

He crossed the threshold and wrapped her in an embrace. His body was cool from the early evening air against her hot skin. He covered her mouth in a searing kiss, and she tugged his shirt out of the waistband of his pants.

Thankfully he didn’t ask questions or try to slow her down. She didn’t want to slow down. She didn’t want to think about him bringing flowers or the plans to take her on another date. Thinking led to yearning, and yearning led to her believing in happy endings. Sex, their relationship was just about sex.

His hand squeezed her ass, and she forgot about everything but having Alex in her arms. She jerked on the front of his pants and eagerly wrapped her fingers around his growing erection. Alex’s low groan echoed through the entryway. It didn’t take long before he was thick, long and ready. She pulled out the condom she’d slipped into the cup of her bra. Alex’s eyes flashed with excitement. She grinned and tore open the packaging. In a flash she had him covered.

Alex lifted her with efficiency and placed her on the entryway table. The flowers hit the floor as he slid into her with one quick thrust of his hips. Elaina groaned, tension seeped out of her, and a feeling of rightness settled into her. This was what she wanted. What she needed. Alex, his body, his kiss, his touch, pushed aside everything wrong in her day. Their mouths came back together in a desperate kiss. Alex trailed hot kisses across her cheek and finally stopped when his lips brushed the sensitive spot at the corner of her neck. Her nails dug into the taut muscles of his ass and urged him on.

The table creaked and swayed with their frantic movements. Their moans and heavy breaths echoed in the entryway. Alex held on to her as if he needed this just as much as she did. Elaina came hard and fast. Her body trembled and clenched around him. Alex let out a shuddering breath and followed her over.

Eventually, Alex carried her into the living room, where he put her on the couch before shuffling to the bathroom. His pants were still wrapped around his ankles. It was amazing he hadn’t dropped her. When he came back, his pants were tossed to the side and she straddled his waist.
